Default Big Brass Ones or ?

Interesting read, right up there with some of the Pilar stories!

Peculiar that the guy's name is Deano...who does that remind you of?

BTW, a real pity they killed that shark. Think of all the sea lions that shark would have played with. Which means there will be several thousand less salmon because of this.

Tuna pens? Off Mexico? Are we now going to start raising soft-meated, tasteless albacore to compliment the soft-meated, tasteless salmon that Canada and Chile are raising?

Anybody know anything about tuna pens? Ackkk!

Skein, these operations have been there for a while now. They use a big purse seine to catch mostly bluefin. Then they tow the fish, with net still in the water, very slowly (sometimes for hundreds of miles) to these pens in Mexico. They feed them live sardines & anchovies to fatten them up. The fish are carefully harvested, processed, and sold in the sushi markets of Japan for top dollar.

edit: here's a decent link for ya Skein:

He obviously isn't a Salty Dog or he'd have been going out of his mind trying to find the nearest fishing pole!

Wow. Like an Australin beer commercial. I also like the last line...

"I know they (great whites) are becoming extinct. But there is only one of me and it could have made me extinct very quickly."
