I fished there two weekends ago, landed and released 3 coho. No chinook. We fished from marker 31 to the oyster house. Lots of fun anyway!

I was there last weekend. Fished from the closed mill above Toledo and up a few miles. Pretty slow. Only heard of one being caught.

The lower river has started to really slow down and the crabbing is not very good either. I haven't fished the upper river, so no report from there. We last fished the Oyster house area last Sunday. We lost one at the boat and had three other take downs in about 4 hours of effort.

Hope this helps.

Salmon fishing has been slow and the crabbing even slower. Go to Waldport to crab, I've had friend who got them there a few weeks ago. I was in Newport last week and got 1 keeper. Fished for nookies the day before and caught none.

Kinda looks like the chinook are upriver. My better half and I bobber fished last Saturday(got cold and wet)from the Red barn hole all the way back to Cannon Quarry without a bump. There's still some jumpers out in front of my place, but it's primarily coho. I did see a guy drag a fish out of his boat when he got back to the Toledo ramp today, but it looked real dark. Very few trailors at the ramp this week. I heard that there was a new run of bright fish in the Alsea, but I don't know where, just that a guide and his clients got into 'em. Heck, just out of boredom or evading yardwork, I might just try again this weekend...my wife might force me to. Her attitude about fishing sure did change since she caught her first three salmon EVER this year. She even bought a new smoker!( Little Chief that is). My boat has had 15 on and 7 in the boat this year. WAY better than the last 5 years since I've been trying here. Dumb luck probably, but skill should count for someting, right? Yeah, right. Anyone got a way to test if the fish finder is actually marking real fish? Mine says there have been a load of them in the Yaquina.

I am headed out in about an hour. There is supposed to be a lot of new fish rolling around in the lower bay and the bite was supposed to be pretty good for the few boats that were fishing yesterday and the day before. I have no idea what that "pretty good" meant when I was given that report, but I do know of one boat that put 2 in yesterday for 3 rods fishing. The crabbing is still very slow according to the neighbor who didn't get any yesterday.

I will post later today with some results.

Fished near 31 and 43 today for a few hours and saw three fish caught. Not a whole lot happening but more than I expected.
