also very imp!! set your side clearance at ".20", they make a 12" long fealer gauge to reach up and make sure its set right roll the motor around by hand a few times and look for spots that may be to tight.

peace, B.

did you ever re-sharpen or respace your other one? If you didn't and the impeller had a lot of use, any new impeller would have probably made a huge difference. Any slop will reduce performance significantly.

I've never use a 4 blade or a stainless but I always thought they were designed to allow lower planing speeds. That's great if you're getting better hole shot though. I'd be curious to know if others have experienced the same.

I'm a diesel macanic and I work on ob jet's also 3 bladed alum are softer and ding very easy once they get dinged they get smaller in size when u resharpen them even with a new sleeve they don't push a big load. but the 4 bladed is stainless steel harded materal doesn't ding more blades = suckes up more water and in turn gets up on plane instant works great for me espacially duck hunting w/ deks and guns 4 people and gear in a 18' duckworth keani 115/80 jet I'll never go back
