Nah, Mel, we're just concentrating on booking every available room/restaraunt/fishing boat in Zihwatenejo. As Aquaholic says, "this is fun!"
Is Mexico ready for us?????
How did that go? "Uno mas cervasa, por favor. Dos! Dos cervases!" Just practicing my Spanish.

Re: Do S. Dogs Hibernate or just get mean?
From an Alaska parks website on bear hibernation, with some minor edits:
" Some of a grizzly's favorite foods include nuts, berries, insects, salmon, carrion, tuna, and small mammals. The diet of a grizzly varies depending on the season and habitat. Grizzlies in areas of Alaska eat primarily salmon, while grizzlies in high mountain areas and the Oregon coast eat mostly berries, insects, smoked fish and brewpub food washed down with Rogue Ale.
While not buying more tuna gear, lever drag reels, and expensive rods from Charkbait and E-Bay, tunabears hibernate during the winter, usually digging their own dens with their claws, especially those who didn't do enough chores for mama bear during the summer to deserve sleeping in the bed. They will often choose the side of a slope of the garage, near the fishing gear, where snow collects, providing good insulation on those cold nights while holding the favorite tuna stick whispering "my precious." . Grizzlies need to eat a lot and fish for tuna even more in the summer in order to survive through a winter of hibernation. The grizzly defends its rod building, gear storage, and breeding territory, and mothers fiercely guard their cubs."
Please feel free to add onto the hibernation essay, so that others may understand us.

Re: Do S. Dogs Hibernate or just get mean?
Mark Mc- I gotta change the Grizzzzzzzzley part though.
A hibernating Salty Dog may be identified by the strange sounds coming from his den...Zzzzz...zzzzz..zzzzzz..zzzzzz.... This snoring is somehow very similar to the sound of a Sealine or Penn reel spinning at Mach 2 with the clicker on.
Waking a hibernating Salty Dog prior to July 1st or 58 deg Sea temp can be very hazardous to both the Salty Dog and those around him. Violent shaking, spasms, chants of TUNA TUNA TUNA may occur. The Salty Dog may spend hours, days, even months staring at strange colored maps that come from NOAA Satellites as well as data from NDBC.
In addition very serious harm can come to the spouses of those Salty Dogs awoken. There are documented cases of financial ruin from a Salty Dog having 9 months to shop for Boat Jewlery and Tuna Gear when not in a deep sleep.
Subspecies of Salty Dogs gather together at certain times during the winter. These gatherings (although not well understood) seem to have some religous significance as well as somehow being related to surivial of the subspecies through the long dark winter. A large rotating flashing light and very loud strange sounds seem to signify the time to return to hibernation.
To be continued....

HA HA HA HA!!!! My ribs are hurting! My eyes are watering! I-I-I can't t-t-type b-b-because I'm l-l-laughing tooooo hard!
Deep breath. Okay, here goes.
Tunabears can be readily baited and/or trapped and are often skinned and hung out to dry by such well-known outfitters as Englund's, Fisherman's, and yes, even Cabelas. Female Tunabears (NOT called sows) are fierce when confronted with a boar that has been so trapped. They are no match for the cunning of the boars (or bores) though, since during gear season they will be minding the young while the male rips the checkbook apart to construct their den.

Re: Do S. Dogs Hibernate or just get mean?
There is a documented case of one Tunabear who migrated several hundered miles during the summer to go TUNA fishing. Once the Tuna stopped biting he migrated back south several hundred miles to his winter den.
None of the other Tunabears have heard from him since. There are however, reports that he has been molesting political debators and moderators with great abandon on another board!
This Tunabear is considered armed and dangerous, do NOT feed (or wake) him until late spring!

BOTH! No catch and release this time of year. Time to put the red meat next to the orange and white meat in the freezer. So many choices so little time. Daylight gettting shorter. Time to go kill something. Again. Come July, with no north wind @ 25 knots, I'll be less cranky.
