Default Dropshot sinkers

Hi gang!

Can you really tell if there's a big difference between the regular lead and tungsten dropshot weights?
I know the tungstens are pretty pricey compared to the lead.
Any thoughts?
Thanks, Joel

Tungsten is heavier. So if you had a 1/8oz lead weight and a 1/8oz tungsten weight the tungsten weight would be smaller even though they weigh the same. Also lead is bad for lakes and rivers and is even banned in some places. Other then size they fish the same.

when fishing in rocks I have found tungsten to hang up a little more than lead. With the smaller size it falls into the rocks more. I now fish near 100% lead around rocks. For sand or mud it does not matter.

Thanks guys!

I understand that when the tungsten weights started coming to play, they were used for very finesse fishing. Light line, small and heavy sinkers, finesse type baits, etc.
With the rivers such as the "mighty muddy willy" and columbia, I figured I'd ask you.

Thanks, Joel

you want to use tungsten when flippin heavey cover. if you are fishing for LMB in thick thick stuff, you can throw a 3/4 or 1oz tungsten pegged weight to any of you favorite plastics for fishing. It will offer a smaller profile to flip through the weed mats, where a 1 oz lead weight is huge and bulky.
