End of the season ...
Fishing for Cod and Salmon ends this Friday for the commercial fleet off the
Oregon Coast. Fishing for black rock ended at the begining of the month. TUNA!
is but a distant memory for most of the commercial day boats. Looks like it's
over for another season! :depressed:
Maybe, just maybe, I'll get out for one more quick sport cod session before I
have to pull the boat out of the water for her winter maintanence. Mmmmm, fresh
cod for dinner. Now THAT would be nice!

Re: End of the season ...
One season ends and another begins. Its the busy season now.Soon it will be winter and much more work to keep things working. I like the slow pace of summer, relaxing in the back of a boat tuna fishing

Re: End of the season ...
Ha! This is the time of year I get to slow down a little. From the middle of
March until the end of October I work every day ... either at the "regular" job
or on the ocean. During the winter I can usually slow down to working "only" 50-
60 hours a week! I missed this past weekend of fishing 'cause I've been sick. My
head feels like it's filled with cotton, can't hear out of one ear and the other
isn't much better. Was really bummed that I had to let the last two days of my
season get away from me!! :depressed: :depressed:
Oh, well, next season isn't *that* far away. Time to get well and get rested for
the Chinook opener March 15th ...

Re: End of the season ...
Put up hay, take down irrigation systems, move animals to use the last of the pasture, elk hunt, break ice out of water troughs, feed the stock, steelhead fish, winterize the house, drive to Portland to attend TA meetings. Wish I had a job so I could relax

Re: End of the season ...
Winter is on its way over here. We should be getting our usual Halloween snow storm and they are predicting it .
The geese and ducks are bunching up and it will be a long winter watching Spanish Fly and Offshore adventures.
Mello Yellow will be happy with the snow cause he will be hunting in the wilderness of Idaho and wants an elk.Good luck M.Y..
My next fish trip is probably the end of March or first of April ,,, and the springers. Long wait .... id. painter

Re: End of the season ...
Thanks Bug-Flicker. I will be doing the spring break thing again this spring. The time slot is the last week of March. I hope to bring my son and his best friend , as well as my friend who just bought the new North River.
Last spring they closed the river below Bonneville just days before we came over .
We ended up fishing the Wind and had a good time. I like to fish closer to the salt , maybe we could get together this spring .. Where do you fish mostly? Do you anchor or troll bait? Thanks for the invite and I would like to extend the same invitation to you. You are welcome to ride along with me in my boat anytime. I will probably try to spend a week over there for springs. Im looking forward to meeting you at the T.A. meeting. id. painter

Re: End of the season ...
i like the coon island area, it's in the multnomah channel, good for trolling herring and anchoring up and using kwikfish as well. frenchmans bar and caterpillar island are good as well for trolling or anchored. a short boat ride from the cathedral park ramp. i will look for you at the tuna meeting. kb
