I crabbed all day in Yaquina Bay on the 18th. We only got 7. It seemed like they were well picked over, and few new ones were coming in the bay (We pulled up a lot of small ones, and a LOT of 5-11/16" males). I have had much better luck crabbing in Yaquina Bay in October for the last two years.

Best of luck.

Was at Yaquina all last week,,,crabbing off the dock was real slow but we talked to a couple of guys who crabbed in front of the science center and the two of em limited three days straight on nice hard crab..This was Tues Wed n Thurs, even in the wind one day. Another pair of guys also got their two limits in the same area Thurs so they are out there...

Andiamo..saw your boat tied up in her slip..good looking rig,,hope you were able to dirty it up with your share of albies this past season....

got 17 with only 4 traps in a couple of hours on Sat. About half were soft shell. The spot we tried was in about 25 ft of water opposite the big green tank.

Booja,
Thanks for complementing my mistress (Andiamo) . I didn't get her out near enough for tuna, however I did get a chance to go solo with her one day, where I picked up a halibut, one Chinook, then wandered out for four tuna. It was a gas bringing in a tuna on 30# mono, and gaffing it, solo!
I am very happy to be rid of my previous boat; The carpeted deck was real nasty to wash coagulated tuna blood out of. :depressed:

We soaked pots last Saturday for about 6 hours while we fished up river. One keeper and it went back because it was soft.

I had friends who got 2 limits in Waldport on Monday in about 1 1/2 hours. They tossed back about a 1/2 dozen that were marginal just to keep the bigger ones.

Hope this helps. SD
