Tuna Denial
According to a post on the Bay Area Tuna Club site, the commercial tuna fleet just left Westport and is headed to that close in, tremendous warm water edge off Southern OR. I know the guy who posted the message, and the guy he quoted is a well known boat builder / commercial fisherman out of Eureka.
Have any of you (besides Marty) seen the great Coastwatch / Terrafin shots lately?
Oh...Pilar...I guess all those commercial guys are in denial too.
Oh BTW, firsthand report from the coast this morning was that it was glassy calm on a gentle swell, close in anyway.

Re: Tuna Denial
Believe me, if I had the money to burn for gas, I'd be out there this weekend for one last shot at the tuna. The ocean is great right now, the weather is even better.

Re: Tuna Denial
Mark,
That warm current mass has be driving us crazy all week. We are making a run out of either Brookings or Crescent City on Sunday morning - providing the weather and the warm current cooperate. Why don't you come on down and join us? Gotta try just one last time. Cheers...Bob

Re: Tuna Denial
Are you folks out of So. Oregon or do you trailer down and chase the fish? I know you probably don't Mel, but are there a group of folks that do that? My boat is trailered - I would be interested...

Re: Tuna Denial
I'm out of Astoria - so it would be a bit of a stretch for me to make it tomorrow. Perhaps next time

Re: Tuna Denial
Our group trailers from Klamath Falls and Yreka, CA. Most of the other guys that are going tomorrow are coming from the Eureka area I believe. Looks like we will head out of Brookings and keep our fingers crossed. Cheers...Bob
