Default TUNA & TOTES

Check out the latest terrafin map for southern Oregon off Coos Bay. I know everyone has shifted gears into hunting or honey-do's or new toys for the boat but mercy........I can smell tuna and its not that far out. Anyone living down there that can help sniff out any fishing reports. I would make a fun down there if anyone else is so possessed (pending weather......look at Sunday!)

I think coast watch will have a similar pic.

http://www.terrafin.com/sstview/members/os1.shtm

There is a big Fish Expo in Seattle next month, November 20-22 geared for commercial fisherman, but really has everything you could ever want or need. Bonar Plastics, the folks that make the tuna totes we all like will be there and are selling direct at a discount. I talked to the owner and he will extend the show prices starting now. The cool thing about this is that the owner lives in Mcminnville and would be willing to pick totes up at the plant and deliver them to his house, and we can pick them up there. Oh, I asked him about seconds and even though they have many, they are grinding them up to re-use. There will be no seconds sold to anyone.

The 1/2 totes are $ 199.00 67 gallons
Full totes (48x43x33) $ 384.00 179 gallons
3/4 totes (48x40x30) $339.00

Single wall non-insulated

44x40x29 with lid $150.00
46x40x27 with lid $ 129.00

The single wall totes are stackable.

I am going to order one or two and if anyone else wants to get some I have a truck big enough to haul them to my shop (I live in Perrydale, about 12 miles away) or drop me an e-mail and I will forward phone number. The above prices represent a purchase of more than 1 (in any combination). If there is enough interest we should try a group order because if we purchase more than 10, there is another price break.

Hoggemin,

Fish Expo Workboat Northwest

November 20-22, 2003
Washington State Convention and Trade Center
Seattle, Washington

Try, www.fishexposeattle.com for a web site.

Everything you ever wanted to see for the commercial fishing industry is on display.

Marty, or anyone else that wants to go up there, I think that I will try to go myself. A carpool is a good idea.

I want to talk to "Dock Street Brokers."

Marty give me a call.

Marty- I'm in! $199 for an insulated 1/2 tote is a very good price! I'm in Hillsboro so if he's coming by and can make a stop it would be great, if not I can swing south no problem. This is a great deal!

Hey- 8knots! You see this?

PS- I'm ignoring the terrafin part of this post ON PURPOSE! Argghhhh! It's NOT Tuna Time...yes my precious... yes my precious!

Totes.....I have Mel and 8Knots in for insulated 1/2 totes. Would you guys rather mail some checks to me and I will pick the totes up and stash them in the shop and you can pick them up at your convenience. I could even bring them to a TA meeting for that matter. OR do you want his phone number and you can make arrangements. I am going to buy one maybe two.....so that makes 4!. I won't make an order until maybe a week or so before the show date so we can get as many committments as possible and hopefully get another 10% off.

Any other thoughts or is this OK

Jerry - OK try the e-mail again. The first address I used was the one linked from your profile.

Marty - so I guess we won't be taking my Subaru wagon to the fish expo?? It would look pretty funny with green totes tied to the roof rack (as if they'd stay on).

Hmmm.. maybe Marty should hold until Reel Creel checks out his pricing?? I'm OK either way. $199 is a lot better than I can do. And not having to go to Seattle or pay shipping is worth A LOT!

I will wait to purchase any totes until the middle of November.

Mark.......I will pick the totes up at the owners house in Mcminville. Unless you need one for the ride up to Seattle and we could fill it with refreshments!!!

Marty- I'm ok whatever way is easiest for you. I can mail a check or give one to you at a TA meeting (you coming this Friday?). Sounds like it's better if you do the orders to get that discount. Just keep us "posted" (hehe).

Hey- waddya do with a nice shiny new Tuna Tote all winter/spring? Maybe I can fill it with Saltwater and order some Albi peanuts for it?

A Tunaquarium?

Hey Mel, do you have your own TA meeting going this week cause the one Jen scheduled is for the week after(Nov. 7th)?

Also, "Reel Creel" works for a food service company that buys lots of totes and he was going to see if he could get us some better pricing since they buy in bulk. Either myself or Reel Creel will let you know if your interested. I'm pretty sure they buy their totes from Bonar.

Hoggemin, I'm probably going to be making some sales calls up there to kill 2 birds with one stone, but if you can find a ride back I'd be glad to take you up, just let me know.

Marty: Sounds great, I have admired those 1/2 totes at Englunds, they sound like the same ones? (The 1/2 totes are $ 199.00 67 gallons)
I would like to order one. Do you have the measurements? Thanks again

Anyone know of some worth while tackle shops (commercial) for fishing gear mainly "Tuna" in the Seattle area. I have the need to shop during the boat show.

I have 2 of the half totes, this year I was able to get 8-10 fish in a bin. This years fish were about 20+lbs. You loose alot of space on the ends because they are shaped like footballs...terrible to stack.

Just FYI. Reel Creel checked and for the amount of savings we would get it wouldn't be worth the hassle.

That being said Marty, I'd like to order 1 thru you and I think Reel Creel would like one also but I'll check.

I'll be going to the show so I could pick them up there or whatever. Let me know how and when you need payment. Thanks for putting this together.
