Basso's bighorn
WOW, we stopped in on the way back from Id. and let me tell you. I have seen some big mule deer, but I couldn't believe some of the mounts they have there. They look almost fake some are so large. I talked with the co-owner (Jo Ann) very nice lady and she her self know's alot about hunting. I plan on stopping in there every chance I get, just to talk and look around. Very much worth it. The company is good also, they are in Beatty Or.
I guess most of the deer the havested was from Id. they also have a few bighorn sheep in there and alot of other game. Does anyone know any other places to stop in Or. and see some nice mounts????

Re: Basso's bighorn
Store/post office/ liquor store/ everything in fields. Not mounts but enough pictures to keep you busy for an hour or so. There is one in particular of a very angry lion treed on top of a fence post that i look for every time.

Re: Basso's bighorn
The new owers are the in-laws of the past owners. The past owners, and owners of the mounts, are the owners of the Oregon Record book.
Great food!

Nothing like eating that burger with fresh cut fries and staring at the elk racks.

Oscar's Sporting Goods in Madras used to have some huge elk racks, mostly from the Warm Springs Reservation.

Re: Basso's bighorn
The Bow Rack in Springfield off of Q street has some good racks, the empoyees know what they are doing and can get you set up with good bows, they just don't sell bowtech. They have some huge animals including some good blackails and the #2 archery cascade roosevelt taken by one of the employees.

Re: Basso's bighorn
The store/gas station in Wallowa has a pretty good collection of elk racks and the store in Imnaha had some deer mounts worth seeing. The Denio Junction bar just south of Fields has some cool ones also.

Re: Basso's bighorn
There is a couple little stores on 34 that have a few mounts in them . Alsea and another little store going towards the coast that I can't think of the name right now.
Post is a good one.
In Dufur across from Kramers there is a old store front full of antelope mounts and sheds

Somewhere on ifish, there is a picture from the inside of that store. I've never timed it so the door was open!
