Default Dry cell

Took my boat out for a cruise today to get some blood running through its veins. Well that was the plan. Dead batteries I have 2 dry cell batteries in my NR and have never had a problem before. I haven't had it out for about 3 months and may have left something on.

Can you Jump a dry cell? or use a charger on them?? May be a dumb question, but this is my first boat that used these dry cell batteries.

Fool

I believe you can jump start, with another battery. Don't think a regular charger will work safely.

I am not sure what batteries you have, However I have to Optima dry spiral cell batteries in my NR and I use a standard Deep cycle charge on these. My theory is that the alternator on your engine is a standard marine alternator, nothing special for your dry cell batteries. I would however check the batteries periodically while charging.

Charge them nice & slow. Funny you mention this, I just made up my springer checklist to get the boat ready & that was at the top!

you need to use a ten amp battery charger on those type batteries. batteries plus sells the odyse batteries you need. a bettery tender, trickle charger, will keep them in good shape while your boat "rests".
