Official TA Meeting Post
Hey y'all -
This is the last TA meeting I'll be organizing, so someone will need to pick up the sword if the meetings will continue.
November 7, 2003
Santana's
3655 Southwest Hall Boulevard
Beaverton, OR 97005
(503) 643-0488
5pm-ish or whenever you get there until the disco ball starts
Please RSVP on this thread. Also, I believe an encore of the swordfish vid is in order. Please post if you can bring a copy and/or TV/VCR or DVD player.
See ya there!

Re: Official TA Meeting Post
Thanks for organizing the meetings Jen. Organizing things isn't a lot of fun and the pay sucks!
I'll be at the meeting and the family will probably be with me too.
I'll try to organize a meeting this winter and maybe some others will volunteer as well. We should all plan on attending the Ifish Christmas party to help Dornbecker kids out and then I'll plan a big TA meeting for January sometime.
By the way, who was the lucky winner of the "framed Tunaholic 12 step program" at the last meeting?

Re: Official TA Meeting Post
I'll bet some of us "southerners" could organize one down around Dopey or Newport. Remember last year, the one at Newport? The one that was cancelled? Geez, there musta been 40 'Holics show up. Bet we could do it again.
DipSeaDiver and I will be a the Nov meeting if for no other reason than to finally meet that Idaho guy and his wife.
I may even have a new TUNA! rod to show.

Re: Official TA Meeting Post
Skein - sounds good. Plan it for a really nasty weekend and we'll all be there. Actually, John had a great suggestion: a potluck where everyone brings their favorite TUNA! dish. I wish I had a house big enough... John? Where are those plans for Carkington Palace? We need to add in a big ol' bonus room for TA meetings.

Re: Official TA Meeting Post
I'd be in for hosting a potluck but probably be better to do in the Spring/Summer/Fall when we can spread out on the deck/patio. We can have a potluck/barbie and build a fire in the pit.
If the number isn't too darn big we could do it in the house. Last couple meetings would be doable inside (what- 'bout 30 folks?). Can't fit the crowd we had at the last one at Dancing Dragon though. I think it was over 50 at that one! I guess everybody could just bring rain gear and we could stand outside and pretend we're fishing in Oregon!
edit, oops- I'll be at the 7th meeting and Tuni too!

I'll be at the Novermber 7th meeting as long as Mel does'nt show up in a trench coat.

Re: Official TA Meeting Post
I'd planned on making this one, but have to cancel due to a last-minute invite to go Elk/Mule Deer hunting in the Idaho Wilderness. I realize this is somewhat selfish of me, but I get the feeling that ya'll will understand.
Mr. Fisherman, thanks again for the invite. I truly admire your graciousness. Perhaps I can take a raincheck, or at some time in the future repay you with the same courtesy.
Oh, and please...pray for snow in the mountains!!!

This is Tuna Tom's wife. I'm replying for Tom because I can type twice as fast as he can and he is mesmerized by the baseball game.
The whole family will probably be there including Tom, myself and the two boys.
We'll do our best to keep the little guy out from under Pilar's feet!

From seeing the responses on this thread, I get the impression that kids are welcome .
Can I bring my two ruggers as well as my wife??
The ruggers are at age 5 and 11 and my wife is 44, and I can get them to behave in public. Hi Ho. We were thinking maybe the Portland zoo on Sat. id. painter

Re: Official TA Meeting Post
IdP - Of course, bring the kiddies (and the wife)... the restaurant is pretty much ours until the disco starts. I'll likely be bringing one or both of my pups, too. The kids' eyes will likely glaze over as kids are generally unaffected by TUNA! fever. But sometimes, just sometimes, they can be susceptable. My daughter caught it last summer and she hasn't even fished for the long fins yet!

Ed, that's a 4 letter word and we're tryin' ta keep this kid friendly...
MW, no problem and be careful what you wish for. Idaho gets snow all the time. I remember it snowing 3 inches just before the 4th of July Fireworks once in Pocatello...
I'll be there to meet Chris and his family. I may bring my wife and kid if I can find the rope and duct tape. Or I might just show up with bruises.

Re: Official TA Meeting Post
Hey y'all, no requirement to be a Tunaholic, or even like the ocean to join in the meeting. Come one come all! Looking forward to seeing some new faces and visiting with some familiar faces that haven't yet made it to the TA meetings.
I haven't seen a response to the earlier request for AV equipment... anyone?
Thanks!

Re: Official TA Meeting Post
I can bring a TV and VHS player but the DVD from the Swordfish trip doesn't seem to play in my DVD player.
Let me know what you want and I'll load it up.

Re: Official TA Meeting Post
Rod....I'm not going to make the meeting, we're going to be in Vegas celebrating our 35th Anniversary (Which actually was yesterday) but timing issues ya know But if you get the DVD back to me, I can change the format (two formats left to try), or I can burn it onto VHS for ya
Let me know

Planning on coming to the meeting. If you need me to bring a DVD player, email me and I'll bring it.

Re: Official TA Meeting Post
Bummer! Looks like I now will have to be in Seattle on the 7th, and won't get back until late that night. :depressed: Probably won't make it now.

Nalu - Bummer!
Rod - yes, please. I think John has a copy on VHS. I haven't viewed it yet. I'll check it out this weekend to make sure it works.
Thanks!
