Default Long Beach Clam Dig

For those of you that missed tonights clam dig you missed out on a great evening. The clams were showing and even had some nice whoppers among the 4 inchers. Great time for all of us. But getting a clam license could be tough. The WDFW has a one crummy lic system.

Welcome aboard. What is the problem with the license system?

We had a clam good tide at the beach this weekend.
Any time you can clam in you "T" shirt in Febuary is always a good thing. Got to the beach a little late on Friday and managed to pound out a limit before dark. 5mi N of OP. Saturday. Saturday was a little harder. I finally figured out that while I was in the serf waiting for the water to got out my son (12yr) was in the dry sand racking up the clams. So as any good game hog would do, I moved up to the hot spot and finished up. They did'nt show too well and had to work for them. 3mi N of Cranberry Rd.

Great weather for clammin sat. night. But as soon as I pulled out on the sand for an early drive through I looked at the surf and told the wife we would be really lucky to get many clams.I couldnt beleive how rough the surf was for the weather we had the days before.
We got our limits of nice clams. But had to chase the surf for every one.And it took about 3 hours.Sometimes thats funner than getting a limit in a few minutes and leaving anyhow.
I tried up high but had no luck.I have seen a lot of times when it was easier to get your clams high, than close to the surf.
