SI West Side....Huh?

I've been out of town a week, and was going to go pull a chip tomorrow, but I looked at the hunt stats and everything is all befuttled.

East side is shooting ok, but what in the world is going on on the West Side? Is there still ice issues out there?

PM's appreciated if you have seen what's been going on.

high water and slushy ice is screwing things up

Tons of ice!
That's been the problem. You can break ice up into slush chunks now, but in some places you needed a chainsaw to do anything...

The ice is VERY thick!!! It's thick enough to hold the weight of a lab, but not quite enough for a hunter to walk on.

Steelman Lake is frozen from shore to shore, so is Mud and Seal Lakes. The only open water is in Crane Lake on an in coming tide. I had a friend boat in from the Gilbert boat ramp and he did alright, but there isn't a lot of water there even at high tide! At low tide there is NO water!

I think I'll head over to the Eastside and sleep in line.
