I've had some success in Capital Forest, south and west of Olympia. A lot of the country is pretty thick, so it can be hard seeing them. I'll usually call with a partner. One guy with a scoped rifle, the other with a lever gun or shotgun. There are quite a few in the Shelton area as well. It seems like I find more when there are some houses nearby. Probably because of scraps and garbage.

If you don't mind a 3.5 hr drive over the pass......then head to central washington. Helps to find some private land since the public spots have some very educated coyotes.

If you want to make the drive to SE Washington there is no shortage of coyotes over here, I could even point you in a few spots if you would like, good luck.

This is how we hunted coyotes in the Tri-city area in the '70's...
Find a livestock rancher with a healthy anger at those pesky 'yotes that are eating into his profit margin...
obtain permission to cull the 'yote packs...
determine where said rancher dumps his dead livestock...
build sagebrush/tumbleweed blind 100 yd out...
unlimber the 30 .06 Springfield w/ 4x8 scope... <sigh>
We got as much as $75 for a prime winter white belly pelt(not the red)...
I wonder if the Ellensburg area off I-90 still has all those sheep ranches?
