Please pray for my dad

My brother and I believe my dad has diabetes, but thus far, he refuses to go see a doctor. He has almost every symptom, but will not go get his blood tested. We are going to try and talk to him about it. He just turned 66, and we would like him around for a few more years.

Please pray that we can reason with him, and he will seek the necessary treatment. He underwent radiation for colon cancer two years ago. Now, we need him to get thru this.

I will pray for him to work past his fears, or what ever is holding him back, and seek medical help.

I expect he's scared to death of what else they might find. I feel so sorry for you but, I also think your loving concern will get him to some around. 'Any thought about getting a test kit to do a preliminary at home to either indicate some further validity for the concern or to give an element of peace-of-mind while you ease him into going in? Thank you, to those who are praying for my dad. After today's visit with him and my family, I am even more concerned about his condition. If he does not get help soon, I do not expect him to last much longer.

The hospital is having a great deal of difficulty getting his blood drawn. Please pray that they will be able to do this at his next appt. He needs help very soon. He did not look good today, and my mom is having trouble dealing with everything.

There was a show on TV this week called Intervention that dealt with a guy who refused to take care of his diabetes... and detailed the results of not doing so. Very enlightening for those who are not educated about diabetes.

The doctor's office was finally able to get a blood sample out of his foot. We will know the results in a couple weeks.

Well, the blood results showed nothing of major concern, but he is not improving. He fell yesterday, and injured his arm. Falling seems to be a regular thing with him now, too. I talked with him today, and asked him if he wanted me to try and find him a better doctor in the valley. So, it looks like I will be spending some time with dear ol' dad at the doctors' office the next few weeks.

If I thought he would pass on in peace, I wouldn't be so concerned. But, I don't think he has made peace with that thought, yet, so will just keep
