Default Basin Ducks and Geese

I was thinking about heading over to the boardman area this weekend but was not sure if the area has warmed up enough to melt all of the ice in the coves. I was wondering if anyone has been over there in the last few days and has any reports. Also if there was many birds in the area if anyone would like to share that but understand if you dont.

Not sure if there are many birds, but i live out in baker city, on sunday we had a big warm up, it stayed warm today around 45. I know at least here alot of the potholes the birds were using earlier in the year started to thaw back out.

I can't answer your question about the coves being thawed, but I can tell you that there is plenty of ducks in the Tri Cities area, and certainly down south around paterson.

A bit east, perhaps, but here in Pendleton the vast majority of the snow we had is now gone. Rain and wind the last 2,3 days has told it bye bye., along with risen temps, of course. I hope it gets good there, that's one of my favorite duckin' spots.

Catchem,

The snow in the lower basin is almost completely gone. Ice however is a different story, still quite a bit of ice around and most of the interior ponds and sloughs are hard froze. Some of the coves and bays are starting to open up, warm weather and warm winds are what we need to open the water back up. Good luck on your hunt.
