Default Gun show deals?

I haven't been to a gun show in years.

I hear on ifish that it is a trinket-fest and gun deals are hard to find. Thinking about bringing the gf to the Clark County fairgrounds gun show tomorrow.

Any traditional archery gear at gun shows?

Or should I take her to Marley and Meinstead?

Marley and Me.

Buy guns at a local shop, or on the net. Gun shows are deader than disco.

I've been to lots of gun shows and while I have made some transactions I wouldn't really recommend them to anyone who hasn't been in a decent period of time. That being said, maybe you could find a better movie to go to? Just sayin'.

Gun shows are mis named flea markets.

If your interested in an old worn out pocket knife, maybe a blow gun, sweatshirt, some peanut brittle, old military patches, or to see some of the prime local militia candidates walking the aisles then by all means head to a gun show.

I would rather shop for firearms at a good gun shop. Gun Shows have pretty much turned into flea markets that specialize in beef jerky and beanie babies.

It seems like they have gone downhill. I'll go to buy bulk ammo. I'll also go to buy parts for my mil-surp stuff. Lots and lots of dealers now, so private sales are few and far between. I'm liking Gunbroker.com. Over the last year, I snagged a new Remington 11-87 for $450 and a Ruger 77/22 for $350. Not too bad.

In my opinion its mostly crap like others mentioned, at least the Portland shows. Ammo prices are ok, but I can usually do better at the stores. Lots of overpriced junk. I cruise the aisles pretty quick looking for specific things.

But, if you want to look at and handle a bunch of firearms, all at one location, then it can be a good experience. For example, if you wanted to buy a new handgun you could look at just about everything and not drive to several different stores. It can also be fun for those that are new to firearms. But in general the accessories are junk. Junk holsters (generally), junk optics, junk trinkets. My opinion at least.

Limited traditional archery stuff at Portland. I think just one vendor. You'd be better off going to a traditional archery shop or even Cabelas.

Hey, didn't you already get a killer deal on some traditional bows!
