Default Tuna Reports?

Let's hear it guys/gals.......What are your speculations as to how far out the Tuna are from Depoe Bay or the Columbia River Bouy?
I hear the commercials are working the fish past the 50 mile line? But it looks like a few of you were into some fish just a few days ago just past the 25 mile line? Wednesday's forecast is great and I need to make a decision, tonight, based on your input?

Gregotis,

Did you run south, west of Cannon beach? Or did you run straight out?

Bret,

I heard a commercial guy talking on the radio today an he claimed to have caught tuna just yesterday at 124'44 by 44'40. Can't verify it other than to say that I heard it on the radio though.

Also, let me know where you said you could get new poles for the dory. Wrapped some lines up again this week and want to put new longer poles on this winter.

Thanks.

Corrirod,

I'll give the guy, who has poles, a call tomorrow. I want to catch a few more tuna before it ends but I just can't make a decision. I have the feeling that the fish are too far offshore. I have a source who smokes fish for $1.00/lb. and I wanted to share smoked tuna as holiday gifts. Call me tomorrow night, if you don't hear from me. Let's fish, down south this November!!!!!!!!!!

gregotis98,

Was wandering if you noticed any Jumpers or ran accross any Commercial Jig boats working in your area?
And what were your numbers when/where you ran accross any temp brakes?
And last where were you fishing? Approx?

Ya know... I knew there was a reason I washed my gear down and then just spread it all out on the Settees to dry! It's all out of the bags and ready to go.

Mel,
Do you need a deck hand? Do you want to put together a crew and go toe to toe with Tom again? If we can get Bernie on his boat, we'll have this little contest all sewn up. Hmmm, thats right, he has Pilar with him. This could get interesting.

What's the matter Mel? Ya yellow? Chicken? Afraid of being alone in the dark? Believe me bro. I totally understand. There are limits to every womans generosity when it comes to fishing. Time to pay attention at home.

Hey Mel - I think you might be right. By the way, you might want to add that zzzzzzzz-zzzzzzz-zzzzzz-snap! to your signature file! It's pretty funny!

Like this OB?

That was a good idea. Thanks!

PS- that poor rod had a rough day. Earlier I think the tuff line got wrapped around the tip. I handed the rod down off the bridge and came down to watch Luke play the fish. The tip was kinda saggy/bent over at that point. A couple minutes later the tip was gone, slid down the line.
I checked it close later, you can see about 5/8 of an inch where it looks like the blank was shaved off (clear thru to the hollow core) with a knife, then the break. The tuff line cut through a lami graphite blank and didn't break the line!
Imagine what it would do to a finger or other defenseless appendage.

Not at all young tuna Jedi. My wife has plans for me this weekend so the boys and I are heading up for some sturgeon fishing. Keeps them busy and happy when they are catching fish.

BTW Young skywalker, everything is cool. All in fun.
