Calling all Oregon Predator Callers!

Are you a Predator Caller? Are you interested in meeting and getting to know other Predator Callers? If yes, how about getting together for an evening of stories, experiences, and friendship.

For the last three months, I have been out in the field trying to lure in the wily predators located though out Oregon. I am usually completely alone and sometimes wonder if I am only one of very few people who enjoy this highly addictive sport. I think not! But what are all my fellow callers doing to become even more successful, etc?

With this in mind, I am wondering if there might be any interest in setting aside an evening at a central location for a get together dedicated to those of us who call predators here in Oregon and/or SW Washington. With no real agenda, and no real stated goal other than sharing experiences and finding out who we are, I would like to hear from any predator hunter/caller who think this might be a good idea.

If I get enough positive PM's or posted replies, I would be more than happy to make this happen.

I have never done predator hunting except for sage rats but would be wiling to learn

Watching w/ interest.
I haven't been chasing any yote yet, but had hoped to over the Christmas holiday while over here in E.O. at my Ol Man's place.
No dice...too much snow to get out there. Shoot even my brother was drifted in over at his In-Laws in Athena & unable to get out to come have Christmas dinner!

So here I sit, staring at the AR in front of his puter wishing we were out dog hunting.

Hope you putting that new shotgun to good use John. Just pick a time & place and I'll see if I can join ya guys.

Depending on the central location I would probably attend. A mix of newbies and more experienced types would be nice. There are some awesome predator callers in Oregon and Washington but most keep to themselves.

I am still collecting the names of people who might be interested. So far I only have a handful of predator callers who have expressed an interest. Let's give it a week or so more and then I'll see if we have enough people to make it worthwhile.

If you read this and are interested in an informal get together to swap "experiences", please chime in!

I would be interested in attending, let me know the date and location and I will try as I might to attend, it all depends on my work schedule. I have not been predator calling in quite a while, but I think I still remmember a few of the tricks to it, still got my calls at least. It would take a lot for me to get rid of those.

OK! It appears there is enough interest in getting together to talk about Predator Calling in Oregon and SW Washington. So here are the facts:

Time: 6:00-8:00 PM

This will be a "no-host", very informal gathering where dedicated predator callers can share ideas, experiences, and techniques with fellow callers. Information on topics relating to predator calling will be passed out and discussions on a possible more formal Association will be "kicked around".

I have reserved enough space for approximately 15 people, so it is very important that we get some kind of head count in the very near future. If it appears there will be more than 15 attendees, I will ask for more room!

You can make a good one for under $100. All you need is a MP3 player, radio shack amplifier and a horn speaker. Search IFISH for the previous threads and download the MP3 sound files from the internet for free. Maybe not quite as cool as a new Foxpro but you can buy a new rifle with the money you save
