Nice bull mellow I guess if it swims, flies or walks it had a better fear ya

Funny thing is I just e-mailed you about 45 minutes ago to see what was up, and if you and Lepper were up for one last run to hali-hill tomorrow. Conditions should be great. It's still open all-depth isn't it?

Stewart! Man, it's been awhile. Me and Ms.Yello are chasing salmon tomorrow. I've been chomping at the bit to get after them (have heard of incredible bites off Central Dock), but have been devoting every waking minute to elk (and work, eating, sleeping...the regular stuff).

As far as I know it's still open. I haven't been watching the offshore weather but my buddy said the seas haven't been very good.

We should try and hookup some for some evening salmon fishing.

Central Dock = Coos River

It's kinda on the big corner by the Timber Inn, where the river forks.

We caught one nice fish today. Ran into Diamondback. He had at least one nice fish too and was still fishing when we left.

We ran back up to Charleston to pull our crab pots only to find that two of them had been cleaned out and moved slightly upstream (had them marked on gps). The third pot, well, it was just plain gone. I guess I came out lucky, they could have stolen the other two too.

We were really looking forward to some dungies when we got home. As it turned out, we met a couple from Bend at the fish cleaning station. They agreed to trade the eggs from my fish for a few of their crab. It's nice to know that just about time you think the world's gone to hell-in-a-handbasket, you run into a couple of good people.

MY-
Sorry to hear about the crab pot thiefs I just don't understand the mentality of some people. I guess you either have to crab or fish in the bay now-a-days, the arse holes won't let you do both. Did they say how the crabbing was? Last fall was some of the best crabbing I've ever seen.

BTW, 22# chrome hen for me

Lepper-
Marshfield channel Not a whole lot of boats, but the action is tapering off somewhat. I've got a hankering to do some bobber fishing tomorrow, up above the Mrtyle tree boat launch on the South Fork.

It is impossible to leave your pots out there with out sitting on them now-a-days..

Out of bandon was crabbing and actually just sitting there wasting time.. and noticed this boat coming down the line checking pots.. when they got to my 1st one they pulled it.. I went over there and asked if they had any crab in my pot.. they laughed and said sorry... Then they proceeded to pull my 2nd pot... I went up to them again and asked them it they could read... They asked why, I told them because my name is writtend all over the float they just grabbed... Backed off a bit.. They went and started to pull my 3rd pot.. by this time I was a little peeved.. on the way up to them I waked em hard and came within about 2 inches of nailing there glass boat. (guess I should have just punched through the side) told them I would appreciate them leaving my pots alone. They said, "we lost an orange one out here and were looking for it." I just asked them if the float to the pot looked orange to them.. (it was a nice light tan colored) and proceeded to give them a piece of my mind.... by then I was so ticked off I just grabbed my pots and went home...

tourists SUCK!

Jeez Lep, this wasn't suppose to be a flame post. I was just venting a bit. People swiping and/or cleaning out pots has been around for a long time. Longer than either one of us. The cost of that crab pot was about the same as one tank of diesel for my truck.
This post was supposed to be an opportunity for me to brag a little and show off what a well-rounded outdoorsman/sportsman I am
