We were thinking about the cr too, but the big tide swing and the ebb timing has me thinking about newport right now or Depoe it looks like 75 miles or so to warm water. Marty is talking about sat or sunday out of depoe bay Sunday looks best for weather but not for me. If we can run out at 3:30 or 4:00 over the columbia bar, we may be with you , the fish look closer up there and we were thinking of puting salmon on top of the box on the way back it.. when were you thinking of leaving?

Off the dock at 3am... over the bar at 4 (planning on just puttin' along in the dark and fog). Tom (Kamloops) says the SST (paid Terrafin) is pulling back but it's still closer up North.
Minaki (Kamloops), myself on Miss B, Sounds like edsr is running with us too. Might be another boat or so out of Hammond (haven't heard from them yet). Maybe it's time to do a roll call.
I'm heading down this afteroon to do some maint. Gimmee a yell on the cell later if ya want. 503 869-0890

Is anyone heading out for Tuna fishing out of Westport on Saturday 27th. Or for the people talking about going out of CR and Depoe, what VHF channel do you monitor and boat names and I can call to let you know if things are happening where I am at on Saturday.
This is FishingFred on the "Double Trouble" 26' Seaswirl Striper that will be out there.

Fred- We'll be on 11 out there and probably scanning.

"Miss B Haven", "Minaki" and "Key West" so far out of the CR.

You heading South West to the canyon? Nt sure we can reach ya if you go straight out from Westport. No waythe Depoe boats are in VHF range of either of us.

Robin, I'm still on the fence right now? Looks like fog and wind is back up today, just as predicted. I like the looks of Sunday the best right now. It's supposed to lay down Saturday evening. Latest SST's, the close in water is cooling down off of Depoe.

Anyone else going to do the central coast this weeknd? Nancy, I see you are looking at Sunday too. Marty, Rod, anyone else?

TWB, I'm still thinking about Sunday too, have to see where the water goes.

Was also thinking about some flatties or salmon at the rock pile on Saturday but its looking a bit breezy. On the fence for the time being I guess.

Light S-SW breeze Sunday to Tuesday, looking good for next week.

I will be heading S.W. and fishing almost straight off the columbia river. I have a couple of GPS waypoints, but they are on the boat, sorry. I am leaving Westport about 7am so will be on the scene about 9 to 10 water dependent. I will try to hail you guys when I get out there or if we start hitting fish.

I'm interested in running Sunday, but I need a decent report. Forty miles one way is about my limit. Does anyone have a somewhat reliable Terrafin report?

SS, one week ago there were fish at 44 55, 124 43. Best water temp that day was 59.7, 60 after the sun had warmed it up. That was 42 miles form Newport, probably 35 from Depoe, not sure though?
I have not had any reports since that day.

Last free terrifin is a bad picture, clouds in that area. Coast watch at 3AM, the 26th, good picture. Looks like 59 degree water just this side of the 125 line. I think its going to be 40 miles to 58- 59 degree water, its shrinking up.

Weather wise, Saturday looks fair, Sunday still looks better to me.

Jerry

Interestingly enough, the most recent shot (3 am fri) shows a better warm edge closer to Newport than Depoe, like due west (true), a little north of the chicken ranch. It looks like a pretty short transition from 57 to 60, vs the edge off of Depoe.

I want that water around the 126 line.........except I want out about 20 miles. Jerry, I think we will be running on Sunday and then maybe again Tuesday or Wednesday. This may be the last 'best' shot.

Just got an on the spot report from a friend at Newport this afternoon. He ran out 7 miles, a little to rough to fish for salmon and the bar was rough also. He said one charter came in with a limit of chinook.

I was going to fish for salmon tomorrow, but have cancelled as of now. Still looks like it might be a little rough tomorrow.

Still looking at tuna on Sunday. Now they are calling for 15kt winds instead of 10.

Marty, I want that water too. We might have to go to Cabo to catch up with it though.

The wether report seems to be up and down by the hour. Still looking for the roster for Depoe Bay and newport. I'm still considering the trip. When you think things are a go It would be helpful to know who where and when.

Looking also at going on Sunday out of Depoe Bay. Sitting on the fence waiting for the forecast to settle down and be predictable (if there is such a thing).
