Default Bass ponds around Salem area

Anyone know about any good places to do some large mouth fishing around the area? I just got back into fishing over the summer and I'd like to find some more places to go after some large mouth.

minto brown is good, but right now its under water still. and trees are all over the place. I'm going tomorrow to check it out. I heard there was bass in wirth and walling but each time I go all I see is trout. a fish is a fish.

Let us know how it looks. I think it should be in great shape by now. I know I looked at the Willy in Salem yesterday and the river is way down from a few weeks ago when it was flooding Minto Brown. I would have thought that Minto Brown would have drained off quite a bit and should be in great shape with early spring fishing conditions.

I just moved down here and have seen a bunch of ponds in my area (SE) that I can't wait to try. They'll come up on Google Earth if you take a look. Also, the book Fishing in Oregon tells where a lot of the ponds are.

I've got a six-year-old that is a fishing machine. Just learned to cast reasonably well on his own. I'd love to find some ponds in the West Salem area that he could get a little practice on.

PM sent.

Also since I see this is your first post could you start a new thread and give us an into. I is an ifish custom to tell a fishing story(true or not) and a little about yourself.

Also there is a thread pinned to the top of this board called Open seat: Kid/parents teams . If you want an open seat to get the kid out just post up there and when the season gets going I sure someone will get you and your fishing machine out on the water. Perhaps even me.

You might also try the lake in Willamette Mission Park north of Keizer. You must pay park fees, but I have caught lots of bass there.
