Default Sospenders-auto???

I just got a couple of the Sospenders today and have a question concerning the auto inflate bobin. How sensitive is this little bugger to rain? Any Sospenders out there with a few "things they've learned"?

When I bought mine I asked tech support at Cabelas about that an dwas told that they would hold up to the rain but that it is highly recomended to do the annual service and replace the "pill" at the first sign of wear.
I have not tried this feature yet but plan to. It sounds like it takes some pressure for the unit to autoinflate. I think the directions say 10 seconds.
I went ahead and bought the rearming kit so that I can try it to see what it will do and how well it performs.

A greater risk with inflatables (I have the Mustang Autoinflate) is abrasion of the bladder resulting in leaks. Part of the annual check up for an inflatable is to inflate the bladders with the mouthpiece to check for leaks. Doesn't cost anything, so it's probably wise to do it more often than once a year of you are using your vest a lot.

Good ideas. I think I might do a test run and jump in with it on to see how it fits after it is inflated (hopefully it will inflate) and if there needs to be and adjustment to the harness. I am trying to simplify the equation before a real need arises.

I have also thought about storing them in the boat with the auto bobin out and sealed in a ziplock.

Joe, The documentation recomends oraly inflating the blader and checking for fit by walking gradualy into a floating position.
It kind of makes sense when you think about the possibilities of inflating the thing to find that you have an imprint from your digital camera in your shirt pocket hitting you in the head or find that your jacket collar dosen't like to share room with your freshly inflated vest and your neck...
I thought about this after I read the documentation and have changes some habits when I am wearing the vest. You have to be diligent about remembering that it may need to inflate at any time.

Oh, and another thing... I know my habits and plan to store mine ready to use...
Don't want that sinking feeling to be compounded by "where did I put the gas?"

Sooner or later it is always later...

Oh, and another thing... DO NOT wear one of these into the Rouge Bar... It WILL get inflated for you  ....

That's all Ihave to say about that...
