I was at sportsmans a little bit ago, i was looking at 270s and now i cant make up my mind. I could get a Tikka standard 270 for 530$ or a browning 270SM for like 600 something. WHat should i get

Re: What gun should i get?
Both are good. I had a Tikka T3 Lite, but wouldn't hesitate to get a Browning.
I would get a stainless synthetic if it were me. Choose whichever one fits and feels best to you. Both are good choices.

Re: What gun should i get?
You are already wavering... Get the Browning, you'll not regret it when you can cover your groups with your thumb. Pride of ownership does instill confidence. Tikka isn't bad, it's just seems like a step-down brand, kind of like Savage is still trying to dig out of with the Accutrigger.
I have 2 A-Bolts (223, 30/06) and a Ruger 1V 22-250 for my high velocity rifles. I have owned many other brands including Weatherby, Remington, Winchester, and Marlin but they just don't shoot as well out of the box.
The difference is only one dinner out with the family. You decide.

Re: What gun should i get?
Take a look at the brand new Winchester Model 70's. They should start appearing in stores now. Sportsman's Warehouse had one in 30-06...if it was a .270 I'd a bought it. They are very well made.
Remington used to be my standby, but the newer ones are made in Serbia now. Quality was thrown out the window.

Re: What gun should i get?
I have a Tikka and an A-bolt, I like they both and they are both great rifles, if you were wanting a short action id go with the Browning, but since your looking at a long action caliber, you wont be sorry with either one. The only think I dont like about the Tikka is the detachable magazine, but its still a very accurate, very fun to shoot rifle.

Re: What gun should i get?
I certainly wouldn't consider Tikka a step down from an A-Bolt. If you reload, the mag box on the T3 can be annoying because your OAL is constricted, but they seem to shoot like crazy with bullets loaded to mag length.
Of the two, I'd choose neither and go with Cliff's recommendation though.
