Who's the Oldest Waterfowling ifisher ?
My Dad arrived from Chapel Hill today to visit the grandkids for Xmas, and with a little luck, bang at a few Oregon ducks w/ me and his 13 y/o grand son(5th generation ducker, my boy is). I even got Pops to create an ifish id last time he was here, 2 years ago.
Makes me wonder, who are the oldest ifisher waterfolwers? Who out there has a Dad or Grand Daddy that is still at it in the Autunm years? So, we got 82, anyone got 83? Do I hear 84? How bout 90? We used to hunt with one of the great hunters of NC, Carl Williams, til ol Carl was aout 90, I think.

Re: Who's the Oldest Waterfowling ifisher ?
I tip my hat to a man like that. Tell him I would share a blind with him any day and pour him a cup of Joe. I too hope to be hunting till the good Lord calls me home. I saw a story one time where a man was shooting at Blue bills and never hit a one. Loading the very last shell he explained in the story that his shells were reloaded with his old hunting partners ash's. What a way to send an old duck hunter out!! When I die I hope my friends will do the same for me.

That's some old fashioned camo. Looks like my grandpa's hunting gear. Congratulations to you're dad for getting so many years of enjoyment from the outdoors.

Re: Who's the Oldest Waterfowling ifisher ?
Good thread!
My uncle made it to 78 He had 1 glass eye and legally blind in the other. In his last years, he was still notorious for taking 3 missed shots at a teal with the 12 gage auto-5, then grabbing the 20 gage in time to get the teal!
The 20 was a browning light magnum, I still shoot it and it is fast swinging!

Re: Who's the Oldest Waterfowling ifisher ?
My grandpa is lucky enough to have a birthday every year during or around Elk hunting season. This old bugger turned 89 this year while hunting in the Cascades he is well know for inviting other passing hunters into our camp for a beer and soup He still hunts ducks back east with some of his older friends. I have not got him our for ducks/geese around here for a long time (he lives in Palm Springs for the winter) I would love to get him out this year, but he wont be back till next October!
Here is my gramps with a photo from our 2006 hair tag season. He is holding up his cow ... Greatest man I have ever known

Well, getting an 80 year old to hunt is one thing, but in a blizzard? Wish us luck!

Re: Who's the Oldest Waterfowling ifisher ?
Well, Dad and I are on day two of our great Oregon Waterfowl adventure of 2008. So far, we have watched re runs of Waterfoilwer TV, looked at Kelly's phographs 2-4 times, and DVR of Will Smith in "I am Legend." I guess it doesn't matter what age you are if you can't get out of the driveway... I guess we aren't the only ones in this predicament.
