whats your kenetic energy (archery)

I went and checked my kenetic energy that my bow has and with my 354 grain arrow at 290fps I have 66.12 lbs of eneregy. It says that is enough for all big game in north america.

It is a website but I cant post it here because they are not a sponsor but you can go to gold tip arrows and they have the calculator right there. You have to know what your arrow weight is. They also have the front of center also. My FOC is 11.6.

I'm shooting a 383.7 grain arrow at 289 fps. That calculates to 71.8 lbs of kenetic energy.

(I used the gold tip web site to calculate my arrow weight, then googled 'archery KE' )

I shoot a 420 grain arrow at 310 FPS. I believe the KE is around 95LBS

FOC is front of center. The balance point of your arrow.

My longbow is around 53 KE.

I get complete pass through on everything I have ever shot except one buck the the arrow broke the offside shoulder bone and was sticking out a few inches but the entire arrow didn't land on the offside so I guess that is a pass through in a way. 2 holes == great blood trail. I'd much rather track a 2 hole hit than a 1 hole hit.

Ive never shot through a chrono so I have no idea how fast my bow is, pretty slow by most standards I would say. Even so, Im sure the KE is well beyond sufficient for anything I will ever hunt.

04 bowtech patriot dually, 68lb draw, 514 grain arrow if i recall my kenectic energy was 82 foot pounds. Thas enough for even sasquatch lol

This year I was shooting a 364gr arrow at 285fps with my switchback for a 65.5 KE. I really never put a lot of thought in arrow gr weight or KE before this year, but I’m done with the light arrow. I have switched to 453gr weight set up and hope to get 280-290fps out the reezin I have ordered. That should put me in the 80 -85 KE range.

An light arrow that will shoot bullet holes will penetrate deeper than a heavy arrow that doesn't fly perfect , a heavy arrow that flies perfect will generally pass through even very large game . weight and FOC are equally important in acheiving that

I shoot a 425 arrow at 276 fps and thats 71 KE. The formula to find this out is (fps) x (fps) x (arrow weight) /455240= KE.

I shot the Reezen for the first time today.

I am shooting 89 K.E. out of my Drenalin with a 516 gr arrow
