Yea, we knew that...

For a minute there I was sure it was an article about Englunds booming Tuna gear business

Am I paranoid to think this will spell the end of albacore in the PNW? Will the Asian fleet pounce on this prize like they've pounced on so many things world-wide? Will this fishery go through the usual cycle of discovery, overfishing, near-depletion, and stringent rules like so many of our fisheries?

Or am I getting all worked up about nothing.

Good article. Makes me think I have been too generous with giving cans away in the past. Now it will be a micro brew for a micro can.

I bought som e"fresh caught / canned" Tuna in Newport a few weeks ago. The label said it had been canned in Coos Bay. Couldnt really tell the dif between this and store bought. I liked the big can though...Oh yeah, It was $5.00 a can

Our tuna off the oregon coast are special. Absolutetly a great article for the tuna here. I will have to go out and catch some more soon. Especially since the tuna here are juvenile tuna that are much lower in the mercury than the older tuna that we buy in the store. Besides I'm allready getting low on the tuna supply at home. PS I think my daughter is visiting while no one is home, and for some reason my fish supply seems to be rapidly disappearing faster than I'm eating it.
