Here Is My Story (little long)
As you probable are aware, I am new to Ifish. My neighbor and good friend both visit the board on a routine basis.
I recently transfered to the PNW from Minnesota and was lucky enough to have a neighbor who was from the same great state.
He has gone out many times for Salmon ect. and has always had great luck. So last year he gets me to go on a Salmon trip out of WestPort. We get a hotel room, get some good sleep and head out. Unfortantly, due to bad seas the Skipper decides to head back(I believe he was saying 10ft. sweels)
About a month later we book a trip out of NewPort for some ALBACORE. The night we are heading out my buddy gets the call the trip was cancled due to bad weather :depressed: . Needless to say I was getting a rashing of crap from him, becuase I was some kind of "bad luck".
So now we come to the present  .
Last week we finally made it out of NewPort for some Albacore fishing. We orginally booked the trip on the Blitz. We get to the dock and they inform us the Blitz is down and will be going out on the Misty. Now I am a little worried, is this going to turn out to be another turn around trip?
Well, it turned out to be a trip of a lifetime for me. We left at midnight, got the poles in the water around 6:30am, and it was FISHON by 7am.
We had fifteen on the Misty(the skipper and crew where all a bunch of class acts in my opinion).
We finished the day with 34 Albacore, and when we got back to the dock we had a drawing for the extra 4. I pulled an ace from the deck and we walked away with an extra tuna. That Sunday (Labor Day Weekend) we had some good friends over and had a lot off beer, sushi and steaks.
So after we get the tuna cooked up and the wives liquored up we tell them we are heading out this coming Saturday for Salmon out of Ilwaco. They all agree and Tom books the trip.
We leave around 2am to make it there in plenty of time. We have our beer, and munchies in hand and board the Patriot.
We had one fish on board between Tom and I by 12:05pm. Needless to say we where a little worried at this time. Then we hear the deck hand yell "who the hell brought a bannana on board". So he throws the bannana overboard, we head to a new spot, and about 1hr. later we had out limits on Salmon.
I want to thank Woody for the Tuna recipies and all the helpfull information I have learned from this board.
Sorry for the length, but it did take over a year to bring the fish aboard.
Joe
