Default Posted this story the other day no one saw it

There I was On the columbia river 6am 9-5-03 fog was so thick you could walk on it. Most of the people stayed in port; well the smart ones anyway. We were a little lost until we saw a sauce brother tug go by . we cut across behind it to get out of the shipping lane; made it just in time. There was a big barge following it, probably lost in the fog . the bar was flat, the ocean was like a duck pond. we started fishing just past the CR bouy. I baited up & was getting ready to drop my bait in when I noticed that my line was looped on the end of my pole, my bait was a few inches from the water. I reached up to unloop it and a silver jumped up and took my bait. After that my partner and I took turns- one of us waved bait over the water and the other one netted them. Not as much fun as playing them but you don't have to mess with the hook. If they're too small or native you can just throw them back. Can't wait to go again. Would have been a good day to go for halibut if we knew where. PS does anyone know if halibut jump? Ray

You were naked, right?

After that one I'd give you some flatty numbers but don't have any for CR, just Garibaldi and Newport.

Welcome to the Dogs!

What's the deal with the Barge lost in the fog?
You say he was following a Tug and you cut behind the Tug?
I think I read your story right, correct me if I am wrong.

Howdy Gonzory, that sounds like you found some pretty active Coho.

Not to rain on your story, but were you actually hooking the fish before you landed them?

So that's the secret. And I thought fishing got better after I peed in the water. I had it wrong all along. Wave bait and scoop with net. Gives ya that commercial feeling out there.
