Me and my new ling cod buddies.... (pic)
Surgery was delayed till Tuesday the 9th, so I got one more weekend to fish... Wildhawg and I went back to the rockpile for more kings, lings, and buts. I made a couple new friends!
So one last pic of me and my ling buddies!
I just hope the surgeon that cuts my back is as good with his knife as Depoe Bay Dan is with a fillet knife... thanks for cutting again Danno... hope everybody enjoyed the chinook we donated to your BBQ!

It was an unexpected surprise and pleasure seeing you, Wild Hawg, Sturgeon Tom, Bug Flicker (whom I met for the first time), Eric (Chum King), Mark (Fish Asassin), Netscape II (whom I met for the first time) and the rest of the gang. Should have held our own little Ifishstock II!
Thanks for the chinook Brad and Charlie. Didn't even throw any tuna on the grill (donated by WP and the Crambone gang). We just settled for the rib's I brought and the chinook that was so fresh that Gracie's freezer's hadn't seen it yet. The chinook was deeeelicious! I BBQ'ed it with garlic salt and Parmisian cheese and the other half with Garlic salt and dill weed. Made some fresh salsa with home grown vine ripened tomato's and it was a wonderful BBQ.
I attempted to get yours or Charlie's cell # from Bob's house and was hoping to catch you and talk you into staying and just playing around the local reefs tomorrow. Some other time! Couple more local reefs I want to show you down south that are my personal favorites.
Awesome pic with your new buddies! I'll email that one to the Depoe Bay Beacon and Local Fisherman news.
Get that back fixed and healed and we'll go play with the Cowlitz and Elocoman silvers and you can add to your egg collection.
Thanks again for that nice chinook!
Dano

So which ones are the lingcod? Oh, I know, it's the ones with the big teeth.
If the surgery is in the afternoon are you planning on going out in the morning? You are a machine!
May the doctor be as successful a surgeon as you are a fisherman.

What a classic picture. It deserves to be blown up and framed!
Glad you folks had a great day and good luck with your surgery!

Nice shot of some very toothy individuals. That is definitely a classic picture that at the very least should make the front page of Field and Stream if not Time.
Only have one question? Where is the launch on the side of Dopey where you guys took out? We didn't get done carking at the station until nearly 9:30, and I hear you kept DBD locked up helping with your fish first.
Nicely done trip, and good luck with the surgery.

CK... we pulled out of Newport on the trailer where there was a hour wait for the cleaning station and carked the fish at Depoe. FYI, when we pulled in at Depoe there was nobody at either cleaning station. And Dan was great helping us out, without him, the cleaning station would have tied up for twice as long while I filleted the fish.
