Lightbulb My New 'WeSeekHer' Rod

Rivergeek: Hey Stick! You just will not believe how much my fly casting technique has improved. It was, like overnight, BAM! I’m a regular Lefty Kreh casting fool now.
Stickfish: Well yeah, at least you got the ‘casting fool’ part of that right.
Rivergeek: Gimme a break, Stick. I’m not kidding. I went down to the Guadalupe River (remember, I’m in Texas. Yeah, we have trout fishing here, the tailwater kind anyway) a couple days ago and started flinging flies at sighted fish like nobody’s business. Splish! Splash! I was dropping those little #20 midges so perfectly they could not help but slurp them down, turn and run. I was netting 16”-20” bows right and left. Hoo boy, am I good!
Stickfish: Hey, wait just a sec, geek. Were you casting with your brand stinking new WeSeekHer Rainshadow 5 wt, travel rod?
Rivergeek: Oh, you mean the one painstakingly crafted by the fine folk over at WeSeekHer Rods? You mean the rod with exquisite gold thread over the Olympic green blank? The rod for which even WeSeekHer painted on gold alignment dots to satisfy my nitpicking requirements?
Stickfish: Yeah, that one, Einstein! It’s the only WeSeekHer you own. And it might be the only one if you don’t pull your head out, Homer!
Rivergeek: Hmmm. You think maybe the rod might could have something to do with my newfound skills?
Stickfish: Whadya mean, “might could”? There is no other explanation, geek. Ya think God just dropped a load of great casting technique and skills in your lap one morning?
Rivergeek: Maybe it all just kinda dovetailed in a Zen-like way after all these years of practice..?
Stickfish: Not likely, doofus. You even admitted recently that your skill at laying a line out there over 50’ was mediocre, if not suspect.
Rivergeek: OK. I’ll give you that. Come to think of it, I suppose it is all in the rod. I mean, it was like that sucker was casting itself, dude! So light and flexible. Sweeeet! I was (oh, I mean the rod was) laying tiny flies and heavy nymphs and streamers out there effortlessly. And to think… I coulda been casting like this all along, if I’d only let loose of a couple more bucks years ago and sprung for a decent rod or two instead of those $100 wonders over at the big box. DOH!
Stickfish: Why don’t you post some of your recent catches on ifish.net? BTW, check’s in the mail, I appreciate the plug, geek.
Rivergeek: No prob, bro. Shameless commercial appeals to help a pitiful friend get his fledgling business off the ground is just my thing! I’ll post a pic or two of the WeSeekHer rod, too. She is sweeet! Gotta be the rod! Or maybe it's that logo! Mmm!

Is this a commercial? The mermaid looks a man with a wig on.

Sorry, but is this pertinent?

Well that isn't exactly how the conversation went. Rich don't quit your day job, oh wait you already did

I never did cast that rod before I shipped it to you but wiggling it in the shop it felt really good.

Trust me boys and girls, that is no man in a wig.

Enjoy the fly rod Rich

It's on the Guadalupe River, tailwaters below Canyon Dam, NW of San Antonio and SW of Austin, TX. It's a TU fishery. Funny thing, of all places The Guad River Chapter of TU is the largest in the US. 2008 is GRTU's 40th anniversary.
We've been able to keep rainbows thriving for 2-3 years and that's kinda amazing considering the intense summer heat in the Texas Hill Country. We have a great forum going, kinda like ifish at http://www.grtu.org. Anybody coming down to Texas for business or pleasure and have an extra day or two... Give me a holler and I'll treat you to a day on the Guad. I owe some ifishers some reciprocation on account of Stickfish and HiTekRedKek and a few other ifishers' hospitality on some Oregon steelheading and tuna and chinooking in 2007 and summer of 2008.
