What out of state tags you applying for in 2009?
Well with alot of states deadlines to apply for tags in february or march i was curious what spiecies and which tags you are applying for? i am applying for montana for deer to go hunt with my wifes uncle who lives there hopefully i draw. I may do the deer/elk combo heard thats easier to draw then just deer alone. good luck. one day i would like to start applying for colorado for a trophy mule deer hunt.

Hmm, good question. Economic pressures are potentially forcing cutbacks this year.

I've got a few connections in Utah and am weighing my options for that state. Depending on my little sister marrying her boyfriend who is from Colorado...that may be on my do to list as well.

Re: What out of state tags you applying for in 2009?
I came to the realization this year that I have never hunted with my Grandfather. I have heard many many many stories from my dad and others about him and hunting with him. But, when I realized I have never hunted with him, it got me to thinking.
Now, comes a quandry. He is the type of hunter that ignores laws. He will cross fences. He will fill another hunters tag. He is the type of guy that we love to hate. After much thought, i came to the realization that I can't change him. I can only control what I do. So, i'm debating. He is 81. After reading all the threads about hunting with my elders and how precious the time is, i really do want to hunt with him. But, I dunno. I'm still undecided.
So, the bottom line is this. I am seriously thinking about putting in for Caribou and Moose tags in the great state of Alaska.

Planning on another Idaho whitetail tag for next year. I would really like to go on a pronghorn hunt in OR also. If anyone has any suggestions for a first time unit I would appreciate it!

3 of my hunting buddies have taken black bears in a certain part of AZ. I gotta find a way to get a tag for that region!

Re: What out of state tags you applying for in 2009?
Oregon, elk point, deer point, antelope point, bear point.
Wyoming, elk point, deer point, antelope point, plus second choice tag
Utah, elk point
Colorado, elk point, deer, if hunting partner draws Utah late season elk, will go with him, if not, will hunt 3rd or 4th season Colorado elk with leftover or over the counter tag.
