If your coming through Lincoln City the Circle K store on the north end always has ice. Cost more there but they are open 24/7. If you come through during the open hours try the grocery store by the fire hall coming into Lincoln City. Or try the little grocery store at Gleneden Beach on the East side of 101. Summer hours, I think. They are open till 10:00pm. Getting ice at a reasonable price from Lincoln City to Depoe Bay is the pits. Good luck and let us know how you did.

I got my usual 26 bags at Lincoln Beach Sentry...but they're not open THAT early in the am for you to be able to get it there. $.99/bag is what they charge.

Got a Winco/Waremart in your neighborhood? Buy it tonight for around 75 cents a bag and you'll be good to go tommorrow! If you have good coolers, the loss is negligible.

Come thru McMinnville via Lafayette and there is a Safeway and a winco at the north end of the city. Safeway usually has pretty good deals on ice both block and crushed.

Default Buying Ice

I know we had this discussion on-Tuna this Week-but I wanted to make sure to get everybodys input. some of the posts were a bit vague.
I am going down to Depot Bay tomorrow morning from hwy 99 to hwy 18 down 101, I am going to need to buy ice. where can I get it at 3:00-5:30 in the morning for a reasonably cheap price or do I have to get it the night before? I think WP mentioned safeway, but is that a specific safeway and is it open in time? I am sure others would like to know of good places to buy ice for other areas also so feel free to post those also. I would like toask tat you make sure to say the town and maybe some easy directions to get to these places that way everybody is clear where you are talking about. Thanks!

I ended up trying safeway which the guy told me if he had not botched the order he would sell me the 20 lb bags for $1.99 I figured that would be a good deal for the next time. I went to winco and they have it for $2.28/20lbs which isn't that bad unless i end up buying a giant cooler. i will just go there before i head this morning and pick it up. It is not that far out of the way. Thanks for the input. I think I am going to call around and see if there is some way we can get a deal on ice if I can get others in the area to buy for the same place or something. Anyway, it is just a thought. I should be able to come up with something. After all it is just frozen water!
