The Sword Crew IS Confirmed
Well, it looks as though the crew IS confirmed.
Pilar
Ocean Blue
Skip Marler
Randy Hicks
And the Sword Boat Captain - Bruce Marler aka Popeye
Skip is my son, and one of the best deckhands I've had over the years
Randy is an "adopted son", who has also been a very good deckhand over the years
Pilar is, well, you know, a fisherman extraordinaire, and will be First Mate.
Jennifer has been out with us a coupla times, and has demonstrated her love of fishing, and displayed quite the knowledge for the same.
So.....Let The Games Begin!

Re: The Sword Crew IS Confirmed
Popeye you are a trend setter!!! I don't recall ever having ever drempt of a fishing venture such as this you are planning! Yahoo! Well now we need to have this ocean lay down for a bit for you and the crew. It's showing signs of "fall" as of late and picking that "window" of weather will be ever important. Gosh 'ol friend, go get 'em and have a wonderful safe voyage. We will have the brandy snifters filled and, cigars waiting for you on the return to South Beach! Chillyone

Re: The Sword Crew IS Confirmed
Does it get any better than being on a sword boat?
Thanks Popeye, I am speechless at this point. The realization of a dream, a dream for all of us on the boat is something we will remember for a very long time. I look forward to Team Swordfish, the wonders we will experience on the seas together and the chance to encounter the most desirable of sport fish, the broadbill.

Re: The Sword Crew IS Confirmed
Sounds like a lot of fun.
Be sure to check for stowaways before you pull away from the dock. If you find me before you are away from the dock I will unboard peacefully At sea I might put up a fuss before I walked the plank
Be safe, have fun, and take pics for those of us left on the beach.

Re: The Sword Crew IS Confirmed
Modern day pioneers I'd say...Leaving the Central Oregon coast to do some billfishing...who'd a thunk?
A great plan, A great team, A great boat...all you need now are great seas to make it a great trip.
A billfish would only make it a GREATER trip!
To a long week of anticipation!

BOE, they may keep you. You'd make better ballast than me since you have a lower center of gravity.
Good luck guys! There will be a bunch of us with you in spirit.

Re: The Sword Crew IS Confirmed
Hey, is that the same Skip Marler that played baseball at Linn Benton????? I don't know too many people have that name around, if so I'm a former player myself. Anyhoo, good luck and can't wait to hear the story.

Re: The Sword Crew IS Confirmed
Great skipper, and a great crew. Luck is where oppertunity meets prepairedness.
Take lots of pictures. The bycatch may be as amazing as the target species.

I will rub my fish rock, and say many prayers to the water gods for a safe trip.
Peace, Tom
