Walk up from the mouth of the Deschutes 6.3 miles and wade out just upstream of the only shade tree and fish the seam with nymph and egg patterns. Don't tell anyone I told you.

Re: December 10
Well, The greatest day of the year has come and gone. I had an epic day on the big D I'll just say I caught steelhead, trout and white fish. The hot flies was a size 18 flash back pheasent tail. and a size 18 neon green bead headed rock worm. Those two flies were picking fish up almost every cast. Its nice to have the river to myself. I saw a couple guys driveing the acess road but never saw a soul fishing.Saw sheep and deer and a covey of quail, it was a great day.

A birthday present indeed. Thanks for making my day at work really, really, long...

Re: December 10
Happy B-Day! Nice work, thanks for the report. Got a birthday coming shortly myself and I plan on spending it much the same way, hope the fish cooperate.
