Default TOTE Up-date

Just to let you know....we have 7 interested party's/sales in the Bonar insulated Totes. If we can get four more interested buyers, we can get the pricing down to $185.00 (currently $199)for the 1/2 tote and $359.00 (currently $384.00) for the full tote. Also, I found out that there are two different styles in the 1/2 tote. One has slots in the bottom for a fork lift and one does not. I will find out if the one without slots has a bigger interior than the other. How you may secure it in your boat may dictate which one you need.

Bonar told me that they would deliver them to Mcminville about a week after I place the order and I thought I would place the order in about two weeks. I will pick-up all the totes and have them ready here or I may be able to deliver them to the next TA meeting. To get the deal, Bonar wanted one check, so I will collect funds from everyone who wants one and make one payment. I have a big shop and once they have been paid for, I have no problem stashing them here for as long as its necessary or convenient for pick-up or delivery.

I will post again in about a week to get confirmed buyers and at that time we will determine how many we are getting and that will dictate our pricing.

Marty- I'm still in and can get you a check whenever. I've looked at the website on the two styles. I belive the Interior volume was the same on both. As far as I can tell it won't matter what style for me. I'm just setting it in my cockpit on some nonskid material.
I don't plan on ever using a forklift but like I said, either one appears to work. If you get any more info about one or the other for "hand use" let me know.
Also- McMinnville is right over the Hill from me (Hillsboro) so it would be real easy for me to pop over the hill and pick them up (a lot closer than Dallas). I can get any totes that are headed this way for other folks too. I have a flatbed and plenty of storage in the barn.
We can figure that out when we get closer.

Are you coming to Santanas this friday? I did the week right this time didn't I ?

I'm still in Marty. I would prefer the one that has the forklift legs just so I can easily clean underneath it (fish guts, etc.)without having to take it out but if everyone else wants the other then I'll take it, no big deal.

I can certainly meet you down in Wilsonville or wherever to pick it up also. I'm in Stumptown(Beaverton) so just say the word.

Thanks for all your work putting this together!

Thanks, Marty. I am still in for a half tote. I was thinking one without the forklift slats because I want it to make as much contact with the deck as possible. Probably also going to put in on non-skid material just like I do my ice chests.

I live off 99 in Tigard. Just let me know what works for you and when you need the check.

I hope you are counting me in for one tote. The style with the slots might be better for handling and securing. check your mail.

8knots/Sherrie Marie - If you haven't checked ths out- do so. It appears that the 1800 has an extra set of feet in the middle for deck contact. Not REAL clear from the pic cause they're not labeled, guessing by the desription and order they are pictured. Anybody know for sure which is the 1800 and which is the 1801?

9/30/03 Skein posted a picture of his tote on his shiny new boat. I can't tell, but it sure looks like it sits flat and if on nonskid would be fairly stable and may not need to be tethered to anything. Also looks like a pretty good seat for my back deck when trolling.

On Bonar's site it is hard to tell if the one pictured on the left is the same as Skeins. I am thinking the one on the left is the 1801 from the description?

Has anyone seen the Icey-Tek fish coolers, (www.icey-tek.com), they make every imaginable size. I'm considering the Icey-Tek 270 quart to double as a bench seat.

Actually none of them sit "flat". The "green one" still has legs but the bottom is closer to the ground.
The data on the 2 doesn't make sense. Outside dim. are the same, volume is the same but the inside dimensions are different.

I would like to look at the Icy-tek coolers. A pair of 270's would be excellent as seats and coolers, on the sides of my boat. I have a tote but a pair of these gives the final piece to fish and ice management on the boat. Has anyone seen these personally? are they strong enough to double as seats? what kind of retail price are we talking? Hope there is someone with answers! lol

It tried the website listed for Icey-Tek but got nothing. I did find a site that was selling the coolers retail but they didn't have the "270". They were selling the 125qt. for $248.00!

Just a quick update............we have enough people interested in purchasing the totes that our final cost will be the $185.00 for the 1/2 totes, (sorry no girl inside). I am waiting until this afternoon to get a confirmation on which one is the 1800 (I think its the one without legs) and the 1801. Also, I am trying to confirm if they can provide us with any additional colors other than the green. As soon as I get the above info I will post and we will see you will steps to the plate.

That pricing is actually pretty reasonable compared to the prices of equivilant coolers! I saw some of the 250 size that they wanted $700+ for...this may be my next purchase. Now I just need to find a dealer a little closer! So far no luck!

Dave-
I'm pretty sure I saw those at GI Joes a few weeks back. I'm thinking they were the 125qt version and not the big ones you're looking for.

I'm pretty sure it was the Delta Park store, and as I remember, I lifted the lid, thought "oh cool!" I then saw the price and cautiously closed the lid...

From their site, here's the local distributor
All Sports
11245 SE Highway 212,
Clackamas, OR 97015

Hey guys, the Allsports place in Clackamas is NOT handling the Icey-Tek. Their partner-distributor in California is however. Here is the e-mail they sent me:

"Mark, We will not be picking them up, but our sister company (AWR) in
california will be picking them up after the first of the year. Call them @
1-800-470-8002 customer service and ask them if any stores in your area have
accounts with them. The store can order from AWR.

Hope that works for you.

Have any of you folks checked out an SSI ultimate cooler. A guy I worked for down South had a few and they seemed pretty sweet from what I could tell. Boater's World has a few in the catalog and I think they come in 200qt. and 320 qt. sizes for $430 and $550 respectively. I did'nt try for a website but they might be cheaper directly. Pretty spendy for a cooler but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Mark,
Interesting. I talked to All Sport today and they said they have not started stocking them but indicated that I could get a local retailer to order them through All Sport! They said they plan on stocking models up to the 170L. I am going to check with Bi-Mart and others to see who can really order them! One would think that this would be easier! The SS1 coolers are certainly an alternative. Both couls easily accomadate both seating and the capacity for TUNA that I would desire. I will let you all know when I have more information or take an alternative course.

Just FYI Marty in case you had him on your list, but I found out Reel Creel is not interested in a cooler himself, he was just trying to see if he could get us a better deal. Not sure if you had counted him in or not.
