Default Help with a hitch...

Help! I need to get a class III hitch installed on my new to me 21' motorhome. It will require an extension and the removal of a receiver that was welded to the bumper.
Every shop I have called is worried about liability and won't touch it. I am in Hillsboro but willing to travel.
Thanks in advance...

Ray... suggest you contact UHaul in Beaverton on TV hwy... I've had them do my hitches (3 so far) for past 20 years... they've done good work at fair price.

Thanks, I tried the one in Hillsboro. I even explained that it would need to include extending the frame. They scheduled the appointment (which cost me 5 hours sleep) and when I got there and waited 45 minutes for them to finish with another customer the tech told me that they do not have a torch or a welder and that they could not install a hitch.
It was a bummer to say the least...

Pietila's Welding in Oregon City. Welded up a 3 ft extension for me a couple weeks ago for a reasonable cost.

It's a welding shop, so they have cutting torches.

Thanks Skipper, I'll give them a call after the Holiday.

Skipper, THANKS!

I just talked to Tim and he is going to be able to do just what I need for a decent price to boot!

I really appreciate the tip.

If you would like a ride out on Sea Lion after I replace the motor all you have to do is ask.

Thanks again,

I just picked up my RV with it's brand new hitch. Tim at Pietila's Welding in Oregon City did an outstanding job for a fair price. I am impressed and will recommend them without reservation.
Thanks Skipper. Are you interested in Tuna or Halibut?
Let me know...
