Regarding the suppressor; I am not sure if you are joking with your statement or not? If you are serious, suppressors are stricky for the purpose of making a gun quiet. The desired purpose is the abiltiy to fire guns without the use of hearing protection which is very handy while in the hunting/plinking enviornment. ......

Yes, I was being a
little sarcastic. The pics of those 10/22 AR4's look like some sort of mass sage rat defense weapon....not a "real" serious tool. Yes, I'm poking at you again.....
Hey, whatever tickles your fancy. After I read what you said about the suppressor, I began to see some merits of quiet plinking. I've shot an MP5 of my buddie's and I have to admit they are FUN!
poop, poop, poop.........poop, poop, poop........yep they're a LOT of fun.
So I'll back off and stop poking at you.
I picked the red dot for a couple reasons. One, it just seems to "fit" this type of weapon. The shorter barrel and suppessor seem to suggest close quarters use. No need for magnification and pin point precision at ranges within 50yds or so. It seems your after split second, minute of pop can accuracy with it, right?
We're going for cool factor with it right?
A red dot on it would be darned cool.
But one of the Aimpoint red dots w/ 2x mag might be useful.
One thing you might check into is one of the suppessors that vent back over the barrel. you know, the ones that are designed to minimize over all length of the barrel/suppressor. The the suppressor part comes back over the barrel a few inches. I'm sure you want to maintain >16" length on the barrel so you don't have to class the 10/22 as a Class III for a short barrel right?
Just a thought.
