Default Tuna out of Newport

This summer has been the best ever. Good friends, good job, and great fishing. I recently completed one of my lifelong goals " Catching a Newport Albacore", and wanted to share that with all my friends at Ifish. Thanks Jay and Loloa Little for taking me out on the White Satin, and Shirley Holly for all the great stories about fishing out of Newport.

New goal. Catch many Newport Tuna!

That is how it starts...a quest to catch one. To see just what it feels like...like a spider luring you to it's web. You think you can stop at any time, I mean, you ARE in control.

Then one day, you wake up a changed person.

And that is good...

Stick Flicker - that's one fine picture to capture the event.

This is still one of my goals, but unfortunately time is running out for me for this year. Gonna be hard to get through this winter knowing that I'm still a "tuna virgin" at age 58. Seems so "unnatural" after reading all the great Salty Dog posts this season.

One of the prices you pay living so far from the big blue.

Hey Born to Fish!

If it's any sort of encouraging word, the White Satin is a beautiful boat out of Wendell.

(I grew up in Twin Falls).

Hey Phil Layer, and Bug Flicker....

Now you've both got me confused.

A sugar-coated boat out of Wendell.

Nothing worse and more pathetic than a 58 year old tuna virgin. :depressed:

Sounds like a sweet boat.
