Default weekend tuna

Starting to plan atrip for tuna on sunday or monday depending on the seas. Have one boat lined up for wing man possible one more. I hear the tuna are 38-58 miles out. Was wondering if anyone was getting them closer 20 mile range???

I would be going 20-25 miles out due west where we have gotten them this year allready, I have a feeling I will have to travel a bit further.

Any takers or Ideas about a plan let me know.
How are the chinookies doing?? catching them and what depth??? where???

Choo Choo,

I didn't make it out last weekend, things came up. I'll run Sunday/Monday or both if seas are good. I can go 40 miles one way ... are you considering Depoe Bay. Sounds like we should be considering Florence, but I'm not going there.

That dang North wind sounds like it's going to blow all week, so I doubt we get a big change in the warm water.

I think your right about everything you said florence and water out fairly far. I hope the ocean calms down it looks a little large. The two boats we are taking can go probably 40 miles however that would be pushing it. I would hope to stay to about 35 miles out if possible.
Soon enough I will have a boat that this wont be a issue however not yet.
I am running a 20 ft seaswirl and my wingman is in a 22 ft starcraft we will probably go out of depoe and see what happens dont know which day yet still watching the waves

Sounds good Choo Choo,

If I'm going out of Depoe I'll be there Saturday night....white ford/white Marlin 23' soft top.

My cell is 541-740-7478.

Ouch -- the 3:30 forecast stinks...that could change however.

looks like the forcast is getting better and the south wind that blew 2-4 days ago has pushed the water in a little bit. Of course all this could change however Im hopeful. I have your cell phone number and will give you a call friday so we can figure out a day. Most likely monday around 5.30 depart. Will be on 16 going out and then probably 78 once we are there.
