Close the lid to your tackle box when you aren't using it! After you've jerked on a "snag" on the Kalama River about 15 times and it's jerking back, it may just be a 26 lb steelhead. Rub fish slime on your hands after catching a fish regardless of what kind of fish you're after. Hold your rod with at least one hand ABOVE the reel, not below or you might see it disappear out the side of boat with a spring chinook on the other end.
