Friday Report Depoe Bay
Friday left Depoe Bay at dark thirty expecting to find warm water at about 38 miles.. The temps actually got colder from 20-35 miles around 40 miles we started a gradual rise to 59 degrees ended up at around 125,03 45,10 before we dropped in the gear, water didn't look good but we were able to coax a 61 on the thermometer. Fishing was slow with only singles, only two caught on black and purple clones. The other 8 fish on fishtraps way back.. Only ten fish but what a wonderful day on the water. Two fish had me wondering if I could master them or were they going to master me with blazing runs and hard digs and the boat. My back is sore today, blood is gone from the deck and the box. However, still lingering strong is the memory of the air, spray and the unmerciful screaming runs of these beautiful bullets of the sea.. It is true I have thoughts about the feeling at every spare moment but I KNOW I CAN QUIT ANYTIME. I am not a tunaholic I can quit whenever I want.
