Ok here is the rest of the story. That picture of Dean fighting a fish is a 65 pound plus halibut that hit a herring we were mooching about 20 cranks off the bottom, AFTER we had already got our limit of butts  that is a light action salmon rod with 30LB test line, him and Joe had to tag team that one. Later in the day we went to the north end of the pile and tried to get into some lingcod, I was jigging a 4oz jighead with a motor oil colored rubber wormy thing and bang I hook into something that is screaming line off my reel  I finally had to put the thumb to it or lose it all, I stopped the fish and started gaining line, About 15 minutes later here comes a 40" plus butt

I got this on a Berkley Air IM7 10-20 with 40 LB line on it. All in all we got 3 acidental Halibut that we had to let go, 2 of the 3 were bigger than my 48" keeper. I did manage 1 27" Ling and a small chinook. What a great day. Thanks again Dean.
Here is Joe and me with the goods
