Moultrie Gamespy 4.0 IR flash. Because you can't beat it for the price and it doesn't spook game. I just started using the video feature and man is it cool. It will last forever on the batteries as well. My fourth kind of camera (sixth all together) and by far the best I have owned so far...........overall(for the money). Others might take prettier pix but im not lookin for a print quality photo. I am scouting...........and can two for what others spend on one.

spotted hawk- for 10 months out of the year, you will be fine with inexpensive cameras and slow trigger speeds, but in the fall, right before and during your hunting season, you will want a fast trigger speed. All year you can stop critters with scent or bait but when it comes to scouting for hunting, it's nice to be able to hand a cam on a trail be sure it's going to get a good pic and in time.
So in that range I would also add the HCO Scoutgard or the mid- to high Moultrie

For the $200 range, Would go with the SG550 for its Chimp simple to use, Great IR photos that are clear, & color photo's during the day If the light exposure is good.
I own two Moultrie, the 3.1 & the I40 Plus added the SG550 Camo to my pile of trail cams.

Best part of the SG550 its size. Easy to hide, hard to spot unless at night time when it fires off the IR LED lights. I fear the Subhuman's from stealing them, SO Stealth is the key & chain locks ( helps from bears chomping them).

Some folks want Quality photo's, others just want A photo to ID a critter Or human walking in area. Depends on your needs & wants, plus Cash flow.

The newer ones with the Black LED's, are Nice. but out of my Price range, drats.

Once you start.. you will want more.. it's a new Sickness Like Tuna syndrome.

Lots of info over on the Chase game site for good details & User point of view not the sales man pitch.

I've got two cuddebacks and a scoutguard 550.
I would buy the scout guard again all the new cuddes are made in china and you need their card reader if you want to view pics in the field.
scoutgurd use's the same card as my cannon camera.
I use the steel lock box with a pad lock and a cable lock to keep mine where i leave them.
