As always...nice read. It is always good to get out in the blind with family/friends and share a day. I did the same with a good friend of mine, but we didn't get as many birds as you guys did but we still had a great time. Thanks for sharing and wish the best of luck to Lisa on a full recovery.

Much to give thanks for there Todd. Birds are just the bonus.
Great hunt and great write up, as always. What I can't figure is how does that camera of yours continue to take pictures of that ugly mug and not break or crack.
Thankful not to be the dowitcher that peregrine swooped down and snatched over the spread.

Wow does that goodlooking blockhead chocolate look like Bucky in that last picture! He's even got that smug "I got the birds" look on his face!

Way to go!

John, you know that "blockhead". You met Kodi and I at the Aldrich boat ramp cleanup in August.
Heck you even posed for a picture with him.
Remeber this?

I couldn't figure out what the white circle of spots was in the first pic and then I realized it was the dog shaking off water. What a cool pic.

Yes I do remember. He's an awesome dog! I haven't started using the ramp yet ... is everyone enjoying the improvements?

I was wondering if that hole at the end of the ramp stayed filled. At least it won't swallow anyone whole anymore.

My family has few traditions really, but one my Father and I started when I was 12 years old was to hunt on Thanksgiving morning for a goose on the icy Teton River. The first year, we were successful.

When we weren't successful, or the birds had gone south, we didn't care because thoughts of family together and my Mother's Thanksgiving feast warmed us against the chill of late November at 6500 feet in Idaho.

These days, looking forward to hunting on Thanksgiving morning gets me through. Last year, I had a tremendously successful Thanksgiving hunt. This year, zippo.

Nonetheless, I'm ever thankful for holiday traditions which bring together family, good food and the love of the outdoors.
