Default Saturday .. fisher wanted .. Newport or Depoe

Hi, I'm fishing the Rockpile on Saturday 8/23 with one other guy, Gary Gebhardt. We could accomodate a third.

Humminbird? RainRshine? Petermac? Big Tule?

Float plan includes .. Rockpile Salmon and Halibut and possible TUNA! weather permitting. We might even do Depoe TUNA! instead if it is really nice.

Don't be shy. I'll be moored at S. Beach Marina, don't know the slip # yet.

Fishmstr, check your voicemail at work. You're on. Mark Mc. is a guy I respect and if he says you're ok then you are fishing on 'Pilar' on Saturday.

'Pilar' will be moored at S. Beach Marina and call at (503)348-2337.

I will Email you also.

Bring an empty cooler and a fishin' Po and eat your wheaties. I have all the other gear and tackle all ready to go.

Pilar-

With the current conditions expected, do you still plan to make a run? I think I am going to scrap it in favor of B-10, but wanted to know if maybe you know something I don't about the forecasted weather...

After last weekend, I'm on the see it to believe it plan. The swell is 8 ft. by the 46050 bouy right now.

I have no problem with canceling and not going out. Staying home and not even having a chance of going out would be a problem.

If nothing else I can just relax at the beach. The bait stash is almost gone and I can work on that. Maybe I'll rent some dive gear and play in the bay.

Or maybe NOAA knows not it's *** from a hole on the ground.

Understood... I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something that you were seeing.. a revised forecast or something to that effect. I would love to make 1 more trip out and try for halibut, but it doesn't look like that will happen. I will definately watch the reports to see if things calm down..

Thanks,

Pilar,

I would be honored to be your deckhand for a day. I fish the salt almost every weekend, I have lots of gear, a good knife, and money for gas. Let me know if you still have a spot. My work number is 541-750-7394, my home phone is 752-1541.

thanks,
steve

Hey John, I met Steve in person recently, and I can vouch that he's real personable & seems very fish-worthy. Only thing I'd be concerned about is that he went to Humboldt State (oh wait a minute, I went there too!).

BTW, I'm hoping to be out with Phil on "Andiamo" this Saturday too. We'll keep in touch if the plan follows through (i.e., the wind isn't howling).
