Default tuna saturday or sunday depoe

depoe bay saturday or sunday depending on the sea for tuna Have one wingman woudnt mind another or a back up if anyone is interested. Not a for sure thing however thinking about one last trip for the year.

Does anyone have any recent coordinates or how far out they have been getting them?

Last weekend they called for 3 on 6 seas and it was as nice day. I think the report was covering too much water to be as accurate as I needed for salmon out of depoe.

let me know what ya think about the coordinates or how far or the weather or the recent colors.

ps also looking for new boat if you have any ideas. read the other posting and there was a lot of good info.

Choo Choo,

My plan is to fish halibut Saturday, unless the ocean is ultra flat -- if that is the case I'm headed out of Depoe for tuna. I would be interested in a Sunday run as well.

The forecast has to be good, though.

I am in for something!! Like Squid, it looks like the weather might make my plans also. Leaning toward the "Ranch" then look for tuna. Or like SS, if it is ultra flat, make the tuna run from Depoe. I just E-mailed my crew to see what they want to do.
Present forcast looks like Thursday or Friday would be the best days. It's calling for 20kt Sat. and 25kt. Sunday. "Subject to change!"
I will post a little later as things come together.
The last couple of weeks the Depoe Bay boats have been fishing about 35-40 miles up near the 45 line. Who knows with the present blow? Latest SST, things are changing already.

Last Saturday we got the tuna NW of Nelson's Island. A week is a long time in tuna days. This blow should make for some of the sharpest temp breaks we have seen in quite a while. The last half-decent satellite shot showed a great looking break SSW of the rockpile, straight off of Waldport. Not much help for a Depoe departure, but a good bet for Newport boats. Probably just have to do the usual prospecting in the usual places out of Depoe.

This weekend will be similar to last weekend where it was a nice day. I dont think there will be as much sun however the ride in the morning should be fairly smooth.

I have been volunteered for other plans so I wont make this trip.

Planning on next weekend for tuna weather permitting.

Be safe all

Choo Choo, thanks for the post, this is my last week to fish for a while, I will be gone for a week. With that said I think my plans are to go from Newport Sat. to the " Chicken Ranch" and if all goes well look around for some tuna. Back up plan is the pile for halibut and chinook. Sunday, possibly tuna from Depoe Bay, weather permiting. If tuna is a no go, back to looking for chinook. Warm water is breaking down fast and moving off shore as is does with a NW blow. I see that it's SW this morning and down.
Squid , hope to see you this weekend. If it's good lets talk about a run Sunday. Anyone else, Marty, Nancy, Rod, John, anyone interested?
