Default Salmon River Meeting Tonight 8/19/03

Salmon River Meeting Tonight 8/19/03

Kinda spaced this out but received an email yesterday and Rob's reply about snagging on the Washougal thread reminded me about the meeting.

Same place (Salmon R. Grange) and time (7:00 PM) tonight.

Circle hooks were ruled out for a requirement as to the uncertainty of their effectiveness. Maybe some of the bobber fisherman can experiment with them this year.

This is the report I did on the last Salmon River meeting back in February:

Report From Salmon River Meeting

I will try and email the Rogue and others that missed the last meeting with this short notice.

Reviewing the comments concerning the last meeting, I noted that one of the big issues is enforcement presence vs budget. I'm wondering if maybe some sort of interagency cooperation might be available? I think that most of the property where the real jerks hang out to snag and dump garbage is Forest Service land. They have at least one, maybe two law enforcement types stationed at Hebo. Just maybe they can get involved to some extent? For several years I've been expecting USFS to just post the whole area as off limits because of illegal dumping.

Just a thought. Dan, thanks for your service on this.
