Right where Confidential Creek and Secret Slough meet. You know, just off of I Dont Think So River. That's the X for me. Now you know.

I don't need to know where your spots are...just leave your birds on my back door, that'll do.

Re: Your Favorite Hunting spot
.....go through the intersection about a mile and park by the big tree on the left. Hop the fence (yea, it's private but who cares) and go west for one mile and you'll come to a ditch. Follow the ditch north about two hundred yards and you'll come to a bridge. Cross the bridge and continue north along the other side of the ditch to the lake. The lake is very shallow and you'll have to wade to the other side, about a quarter mile. Go toward the east along the shore and south along the back side of the lake. When you get to the end of the lake you'll see a fence about a quarter mile across the pasture. Go to the fence and follow it toward the east till you come to a strip of trees and brush. Don't pay any attention to the trees and brush just yet. When you get a half mile past the trees and brush you'll come to a road. Turn south on the road and walk till you are back at the truck.

Re: Your Favorite Hunting spot
Heck...... I just made it up as i went along.... Great minds think alike....
Yea, the fog adds an element of surprise.
Funny thing.... I actually ended up back at my truck while hunting chukars in the fog. Forgot my compass that day.... Tried it again and got a limit of birds.

Re: Your Favorite Hunting spot
Yeah boys.
Duck hunting is not like tuna fishing, you don't broadcast your coordinates over the VHF while out there and internet when you return.
You have to pick the friends you take to your honey holes wisely. Some guys get it, some don't.
I won't go into detail about hunting ettiquette, but suffice it to say, in a nutshell, that if someone takes you to their spot, you have the obligation to keep your yapper shut, not take your friends there too and not advertise on the internet.

Re: Your Favorite Hunting spot
OK, here it is, but you gotta promise not to tell another soul.
It's right where scouting told me the birds were on the water.
Now, don't let the cat out of the bag.

Put a hatch on top and you'd have a permanent pop-up blind in place.

Re: Your Favorite Hunting spot
Andrew, great post. I totally hear where you're coming from.
I have a couple great spots for you. I know you said you couldn't handle your GPS, but plug these numbers into Google Maps (45.477912, -122.635049) and you'll DESTROY the geese. That area is full of them. If you want Ducks, set up on the pond directly to the West. The area is pretty unpressured, so you shouldn't need any more than 6 decoys.
Another great spot for waterfowl is 45.472,-122.6422. Good numbers of Mallards most of the year. Lots of Widgeon right now. I was surprised to see a Eurasian and oddly enough, a pair of Can's last week.
Try to keep them both on the down low though. And be mindful of the neighboring properties. They don't take kindly to shooting toward the houses.
I'll keep an eye on your site in case you post up any other great unknown locations.
Good luck, and let me know how it goes.

I don't think some of you get it...
I found that post on a different forum and thought it was hilarious so I put my name into it and posted it here.
I have plenty of time to scout and I do. Nothing in that post applies to me.
Just thought it was funny
Guess not.

Re: Your Favorite Hunting spot
I'm not looking for anyones honey hole or secret spot just a place to take my ailling old dad and my young weak son for a fun weekend hunt. GPS coordinates prefferred. Please send map. Jot down directions. Can I use my quad? Prefer to ride in road closures, makes for better hunting.
Will post pics of hunt results and give proper due to those that gave up their area as I will give away their info on-line for the world to read. Any takers.
This is a joke and I am not serious!
